Ludwig Farmstead Creamery
Flavorful European-style Cheese

Ludwig Farmstead Creamery is a European-style, farmstead creamery located in Fithian, Illinois. It sits on Feathercreek Farm, a 150-acre, fifth-generation family farm originally settled in 1866. Handcrafted cheeses are made on their farmstead and all made in single batches from day-fresh milk from our own cows, and traditional starter cultures custom blended by cheese maker Fons Smits.

Ludwig Farmstead Creamery's raw milk, farmstead cheeses were named Grand Champions in the 2012 Dairy Product Competition at the Illinois State Fair. Winners were Ludwig Farmstead Creamery's Feather Ridge and Kickapoo cheeses both won blue ribbons, and received two of only four coveted Grand Champion awards. Their other excellent cheeses include Sangamon, Vermillion River Blue, Traditional Dutch Gouda, and specialty Jakes Wheel.

The cheeses are made by nationally-recognized cheese maker, Fons Smits, exclusively from day fresh milk here at Ludwig Farmstead Creamery. Ludwig Farms has bred top-of-the-line, high pedigree Holsteins since 1936, and we raise them with careful attention to their health, comfort and nutrition. Our cows’ superior genes and comfortable, healthy lifestyle result in exceptional milk.
